Does Chinese Food Have Alot of Calories?
We all know that take-out isn't the best thing to be eating regularly,
particularly if you're trying to lose weight. So many people turn
to Chinese food as a "healthy alternative", to replace the meal of pizza,
or burgers. Chinese food has great taste, is quick, and is prepared
for you. Plus, it contains all those vegetables, so it must be
healthy. Or so they think.
But does Chinese food have alot of calories? Am I just fooling
myself by reaching for the Kung Pow with fried rice?
The Illusion of Chinese Food
The problem is that most dishes start out healthy. Consider a Big
Mac: fresh lettuce; a wheat bun; add slices of healthy onion. But
as we all know, the whole lot is fried and smeared with rich sauces that
make your arteries constrict just thinking about it.
Chinese food also starts out with fresh vegetables, and healthy rice.
But the finished product is far from good for your waistline.
So does Chinese food contain alot of calories? The undeniable
answer is yes. A dish of Kung Pow contains 70% of your daily fat
allowance, and more sodium than you should eat in an entire day!
Chicken Chow Mein contains 32g of fat. House fried rice - 50g of
fat!
