Free Copy of the Atkins Diet Concept

Can you really get thin throwing out the carbs and snacking on protein and fat?  We take a look at the Atkins diet.

The Atkins Diet

To start off our free copy of the Atkins diet concept, let's examine the basic tenets on which this diet is based.

The Atkins diet firstly advocates the severe restriction of processed carbohydrates, limiting or in some case eliminating the consumption of sugary foods, breads, pastas, and all starch vegetables.

Understanding the Atkins Diet

The Atkins diet is founded on Dr Atkins belief that the cause of people being overweight is based on people's over consumption and hypersensitivity to to carbohydrates.  A copy of his book explains this in greater detail.

Atkins diet ignores fat

Unlike  traditional diets, the Atkins diet ignores the role that fat could have on your body, believing that carbohydrates hold the key to losing weight, not counting fat grams.

Is the Atkins diet accepted by your doctor?

Probably not.  The Atkins diet does go against accepted medical opinion on what is healthy for your heart and your body, so your family doctor isn't likely to advocate this diet.
