Step 1 - Be more active
Exercise is one of the best ways to encourage your body to shed those
excess pounds. Plus, exercise actually helps you to to burn up
calories, even after you've finished exercising.
Step 2 - Don't starve yourself
Losing weight is all about shifting to a permanent lifestyle which is
healthy, has a lower energy intake, and can be maintained for the rest of
your life. Starving yourself doesn't fit these requirements.
Step 3 - Reduce the number of "special occasions"
Most of us enjoy the company of our friends, and socializing typically
involves a lot of chips, pizzas, and chocolate. For those friends
you see frequently, curb the amount of junk food you're consuming.
Save the high calorie foods for more "special" (less frequent) occasions.
Step 4 - Full stomachs don't crave junk foods
Often when we have a strong desire to eat chips or cakes, that desire
will go away if you actually eat something else. Grab some low-fat
yoghurt, a piece of fruit, or a bowl of cereal, and you'll find that once
you've eaten you no longer feel the need for that junk food.
Step 5 - Eat a more balanced diet
Can't convince you to live on nothing but healthy foods? Eat fruit
and vegetables in between eating your less healthy foods. By eating
a more balanced diet, you'll get many of the benefits of eating a healthy
diet, without feeling like you're "going without".
Step 6 - Teach your refrigerator how to eat
Although it may seem obvious, whatever you have in your fridge, you're
going to eat sooner or later. By not storing so many unhealthy food
you'll find that when you're hungry, you'll grab what's readily
available. Stock your fridge with healthy, delicious foods.
Step 7 - Start following a sensible eating plan
Make a conscious decision to improve the way you eat. You can
