South Beach Diet

The South Beach Diet is a diet broken into three phases with different, stiff rules governing each phase.

The South Beach Diet Phase 1: stops you from eating all breads, pastas, rice, potatoes, or baked goods.  You get to eat what is left.  Also, you cannot eat candy, cake, cookies, ice cream, or sugar.  You'll also have to completely go without beer and alcohol of any kind.

The South Beach Diet Phase 2: some of the foods denied in the first phase are reintroduced into your diet.  However, you have to strictly restrict how much of them you eat.

The South Beach Diet Phase 3: aims to mold you into a predetermined style of eating on an ongoing basis.

The South Beach Diet - The Warnings

If you have kidney problems this diet is not recommended. If you have diabetes, get tested to make sure that your kidneys are not impaired before starting this diet.

Are the Safer Alternatives?

There are many quality alternatives to The South Beach Diet.  We personally recommend Slim for Life, because it doesn't restrict you from eating any food types, as The South Beach Diet does.  Also it doesn't carry any health warning as does The South Beach Diet, because Slim for Life allows you to eat a regular, diverse diet.
